NOTES

1. Moving the public toilets to a more visual position that still is relevantly functional and in proximity for beach goers and tourists. In the current position there have been violent confrontations, vandalism, drug use at night and as such it harbours unwanted activities. In the current position these public toilets have costed the community thousands of dollars more than other similar toilet facilities in vandalism damage repairs.

2. The beach access stairs have been extended to come inline with new point 19 as this type of seating and stair structure could double to protect the town from storm and high seas. The idea here is to protect the pool and Jonson Street. This type of structure has been used in place like Blackpool in England which has huge tides.

3. New beach vehicle access and a turning circle with limited parking spaces at the beginning of point 14. This the main point of contention to most community members with other plans. Many have said that with Byron Bay being a major surfing town the community wants the ability to drive past and look at the surf conditions. Additionally a bus and emergency access facility to the beach is a most important need with any proposed changes.

4. New pool amenities, office and pool entry and pool filtration system and a much needed 25 meter extra pool facility which can be solar heated and therefore extend the pool opening period.

5. steps for bay viewing which serve to also protect the town and the pool from ocean plus a shade structure which has dual purpose to shade both the public and the pool patrons
